A Brown Leghorn crossed with a Blue (or Splashed) Leghorn will yeild some Blue Reds in the F1.

There is no sex linkage so it makes no difference which way they are crossed.Splashed Leghorns are the white counterparts of Blue Leghorns, there are also Blacks from Blue Leghorn matings. Blue x Pile Leghorns will also make Blue-reds,in a percentage of offspring.

sorry madmax have a new email thegriffinz@bigpond.com
but it does make a difference the only way you will make blue red is white roo over brown hen then mate the first offspring back to the brown hen don't use the white roo again you end up with white under feathers in all the line and it takes ages to get out if you put a brown crl to a blue hen all you end up with is more brown and no blue reds and you would never get splash from a brow to blue would only get splash from a black to white mateing and blue x pile give you washed out blue red that are no good for anything but the pot the only way you will get blue reds is from putting a good white roos over a good pullet breeding brown hens have been making them for the last 8 or so years
